This week starts my training for a half marathon. I am not as crazy as James to ever attempt a marathon! I am aiming for a race on Halloween in Chicago. Right now all that stops me is the $65 registration fee. Anyone want to help with that??? Just kidding. I am hoping to have some extra cash next month and that it will not fill up before then. I also had a couple of goals that I made in the beginning of the year but have failed to really work on. But I know it is not too late to start working toward those goals.
Goals for 2010:
- lose 25 pounds by Dec 31
- run a half marathon
- makes some good steps toward becoming debt free
This means that I am going to start working out 5 times a week and watching what I am eating. I am also looking for a PT job that I can work in the evenings and weekends. Or even better yet a new FT job that pays me more and gives me opportunity for growth down the road!
Like in all my notes on facebook, I also want to share what God is teaching me and how you can pray for me. God is teaching me alot about being content with where he has me. I never thought when I graduated college that I would be a receptionist for a valve company, deep in debt, and single. But I know that God has blessed me even if this is not what I had planned for my life. There are 2 verses that have encouraged me Jer 29: 11 "I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." and Eph 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond what we ask or think - according to the power that works in you - to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever, Amen." God is good and is in control of everything even the littlest aspects of my life!
Prayer Requests:
-diligence in my half marathon training and eating healthy
-finding a new FT job where I will enjoy what I do
-finding a PT job that will help me pay off my debt faster
-that I will be reminded everyday that God is good and has blessed me in so many ways
As a side not: There is also one more motivation for running a half marathon. I made a bet with a friend. My side of the bet is to run 10 miles at 12 min mile pace. I will keep you updated on my inevitable victory! Bring on the free meal!
Thanks for reading my random thoughts and being a friend to me that cares so much. I am truly blessed by the people in my life!
